TRUMP PURSUES RECKLESS, UNCONSTITUTIONAL WAR IN VENEZUELA

Despite campaigning as the “peace president,” Donald Trump carried out a military operation in Venezuela and committed the United States to “run” the country for the foreseeable future, all while forcing Americans to foot the bill.
Trump did not seek or receive authorization from Congress for his unconstitutional attack on Venezuela.
In a recent poll, 70% of Americans opposed military action in Venezuela.
During his press conference, Trump admitted that his action isn’t about stemming the flow of drugs — it’s about regime change and enriching oil corporations.
Trump justified the attack as part of a supposed effort to stop the flow of drugs, yet last month, he pardoned a former Honduran president who conspired to bring more than 400 tons of cocaine into the United States.
We know that Nicolás Maduro is a dictator who ruled through terror, dismantling democratic institutions, jailing political prisoners, and denying basic freedoms. But instead of helping the Venezuelan people realize the future they voted for in the last election, Trump and Rubio have no plan for the fallout of their reckless actions that threaten regional and global stability.
