CALIFORNIA FIGHTS BACK: YES ON 50

CONGRESSMAN MIKE THOMPSON VISITS BROWNS VALLEY

40+ Democrats from the local neighborhood in the foothills, to Oroville, Marysville, Plumas Lake, Yuba City and Lincoln, came to hear Mike Thompson discuss the Redistricting plan and Prop. 50.
He explained in detail the urgency and the high stakes involved that require the passage of this measure. The message was clear, and very credibly delivered by a high ranking senior Congressman with a reputation of working together with republican colleagues. This measure is a must win for Democracy. If it passes, all of Yuba County will be in Congressional District 4, which is currently Mike Thompson's seat. Heidi Hall will still run in District 3, but it remains to be seen if other candidates will join in the primary. Kevin Kiley will likely stay in the race, if not in CD3, in another district. The result of removing Yuba County's red votes, allows District 3 to pick up some Dems from Sacramento. LaMalfa's District, currently CD1, would pick up part of Sonoma County, adding Democratic votes there. Shasta and Chico would be in 2 different districts, so our current Candidates, Rose and Jim, will need to decide where, or if, they will continue running.

We had a good turn out, despite the competition with a 49er game!
