Letter: Kiley under scrutiny

  •  Appeal-Democrat

Republican Congressman Kevin Kiley is now on a six-week recess because he didn’t want to have to vote a second time against releasing the Epstein files. Kiley should spend some of this excessive break time holding in-person town halls with his constituents. We want a discussion about why he is protecting pedophiles, why he voted to take away our Medi-Cal, why our ACA rates are going to increase by as much as 75% next year. Kiley voted for all of these things, yet he hides from his constituents, and now he’s getting a six-week taxpayer-funded vacation. I’m sure he will spend some of that time meeting with donors, but his actual constituents are never allowed to speak with him.

Republicans complain about people allegedly not working hard enough to deserve Medicaid, but perhaps Kiley’s government-funded healthcare should also be tied to his work performance.
